Greetings to the entire Cherokee Heights School Community,
First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself once again to our community. I am Roberto Carlos Moreno Diaz, and I am honored to work as the Principal at the great Cherokee Heights Middle School. I grew up in Mexico, and immigrated to the USA 22 years ago. I graduated from the Mexican Air Force Academy, after which I earned my bachelor’s degree from UW Madison. I have advanced certifications from Edgewood College and Viterbo University. Over the course of my journey, I have worked as a teacher, teacher leader, Dean of Students, and most recently as the Assistant Principal here at our beautiful school, Cherokee Heights.
Secondly, as an educational leader, I strongly believe by establishing a collaborative learning environment with high expectations, we can build positive relationships that support academic and social growth for all students. I am eager to keep working with our students, loving them, and learning from them. I am excited to keep working with our staff and parents as we continue our commitment to educational excellence.
My priorities as a leader are to focus on:
- Improving systems that would help student achievement
- Effective supports and learning designed to improve school climate and culture
- Building academic skills through love, respect, and high expectations
- Making sure scholars, staff, and families feel welcome and happy to be working in this beautiful school
I am excited about continuing working for this community and partnering with you in ensuring the success for all.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
